An empty page
The summerholidays are over and the new season has started. Although I enjoyed the peace and quiet, it’s nice to feel the energy that comes with a new season. New members that sign up and are introduced to Pilates for the first time. I call those newcomers ‘an empty page’, and we get to fill that page with Pilates.
Another full diary
The training diary is full of Peak Pilates courses again. The most exciting thing is the PPC1 course, the most comprehensive level 1 course. I also have some trips abroad planned. This month I’ll go to Denmark for a Group Reformer course. It’s always a challenge to train people in another country and it’s fun to see different cultures.
In October I’ll travel to Denver USA for an M.I. camp and PES-Pilates convention, and some other trips are in the works.
An honor and a priviledge
The weekend of 12 September 2014 is when we will finish the first PPC1 course in the Netherlands with an assessment. It’s been intensive and special. The international M.I. team consists of one German, one British and one Dutch Master Instructor. I think it’s an honor and priviledge to be able to work with and learn from these two driven and professional women. And we had so much fun with this group!
Special people
The first group of PPC1 trainers are very specail people. Ranging from an experienced teacher that already has a PPS1 certification to ‘an empty page’ that just took her first steps as a Pilates instructor. I’ve seen them all grow and develop during this course, each in their own way and facing their own challenges. The trust they’re giving us is remarkable; it’s wonderful to see their willingness to open up and be vulnerable and to see them develop a bond together.
This is what makes my job as a Master Instructor special, you get close to people and you get to see that proces that’s essentially a transformation. Being a part of that will never get boring.
Another PPC1 course will start in November and I can’t wait.
